Oz-Stravaganza! Coming Soon
June 6th–8th, the Village of Chittenango will once again turn into the Land of Oz for the 36th annual Oz-Stravaganza! themed “Timeless Oz.” Roger Baum, great grandson of L. Frank Baum will serve as Grand Marshal when the parade kicks off at 2:00 p.m. Saturday on Genesee Street. Plenty of free parking is available on both ends of town and a free shuttle operates all day Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend offers a wide variety of family friendly activities.
    Friday, June 6th, Oz Park opens at 1:00 p.m. with crafters, vendors, silent auction, Oz programming and food. At 4:00 p.m. amusement rides and games open. Before the 9:30 p.m. Oz-some fireworks display at Community Recognition Park enjoy a chicken barbeque starting at 5:00 p.m. and there will be music for your listening pleasure by The Rugburns and Spectrum beginning at 6:30 p.m.
    The fun begins again Saturday at 10:00 a.m. when Oz Park opens for a full day of activities including crafters, vendors, food, autographs, silent auction, Oz programming, free entertainment, history exhibit and more. The amusement rides will open at noon. Plan to stay until after dark to experience all the festival has to offer.
    Sunday morning the park again opens at 10:00 a.m. for another day of family fun with the amusement rides opening at noon. The grand finale will begin at 3:30 p.m. 
    Hot air balloon launches will take place each evening at 6:30 p.m. June 5th—8th. Reservations to ride can be made by calling 315-761-8201. Spectators are welcome. Launches take place from the entrance to Sullivan Park on Lake Street.
    Other highlights include the grand re-opening of the All Things Oz Museum and Baum's Bazaar gift shop at 219 Genesee St, the attempt to break the world record for most people in Wizard of Oz movie costumes and nine amazing Oz guests to meet.

Grand Marshal For 36th Annual Oz-Stravaganza! Announced
The Oz-Stravaganza! committee is proud to announce that the Grand Marshal for the 36th annual Oz-Stravaganza! in Chittenango is Roger Baum.

    Roger is the great grandson of L. Frank Baum who penned the Wonderful Wizard of Oz in 1900 as well as 13 sequels. Roger followed in his great grand father's footsteps and authored Oz books. Legends of Oz Dorothy's Return the new animated film scheduled to be released nationwide May 9th is based on Roger's book Dorothy of Oz. Roger and his wife Charlene will be a part of the programming Oz weekend and they will be available for autographs.
Oz-Stravaganza! is being held June 6th - 8th with the grand Oz parade kicking off at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 7th.

“Timeless Oz”  Coming Soon
In less than 6 weeks the 36th annual Oz-Stravaganza! will take place in Chittenango, NY, birthplace of L. Frank Baum, author of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Activities will begin on Friday June 6th and continue through Sunday June 8th. A complete schedule of events will be available at: Beginning Friday afternoon there will be a wide variety of crafters, vendors, food, amusement rides, silent auctions, Oz programming and games in Oz park. Starting in the early evening there will be bands and a chicken barbeque in Community Recognition Park followed by a fireworks spectacular at 9:30 P.M. Saturday beginning at 10:00 A.M.  and continuing through the evening there will be food, games, crafters, vendors, special Oz guests, silent auctions, autograph sessions, amusement rides, entertainment, Oz programming and much more. The grand Oz parade will kick off at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday along Genesee Street. Sunday offers another day of the same activities in Oz park followed by the grand finale at 4:00 P.M.
Registration forms for the annual Munchkin Mile Kids Run, the new Toto Trot and the Oz writing contest are available on the Oz website.
An attempt to break the world record for most people in one location in Wizard of Oz movie costumes will take place Saturday June 7th. Further information is available by calling 315-682-7007.

“Timeless Oz” will be here soon
The 36th annual Oz-Stravaganza! in Chittenango themed "Timeless Oz" will be held June 6th–8th. Mark your calendar now and plan to attend all three days of fun filled family friendly activities.
    The grand Oz parade will kick off at 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 7th. To enter a band, float or marching unit in the parade call Jim Raulli at 315-687-3471.

    The board of directors of the International L. Frank Baum and All Things Oz Historical Foundation, a 501C3 non profit foundation is also seeking donations for the All Things Oz museum as the museum prepares to move to its new home at 219 Genesee Street, Chittenango. Be a Part of History, World Record Attempt Planned in Chittenango
As promised at the 2013 Oz-Stravaganza!, the 36th Annual Oz-Stravaganza! Festival in Chittenango will include an attempt to break the World Record for most people in Wizard of Oz movie character costumes in one location. The attempt will take place on Saturday June 7th prior to the Grand Oz Parade. Everyone young and old are encouraged to participate in this history making event. Costumes must be easily recognizable and must be full costumes. Costumed characters are encouraged to march in the parade following the record attempt.
