About Emerald City Idol
Emerald City Idol started in 2008 as an additional competition event for the Oz-Stravaganza! Festival. The LIVE vocal competition will take place on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Chittenango High School Auditorium.
All applicants will audition either May 9th or 11th (auditions are closed to the public). Applicants will perform their song for a selected panel of EC Idol audition judges. The panel will then narrow down the applicants to a limited group of final contestants to go on and compete in the actual competition on Saturday, May 18th, 2013 at 6 p.m.
That limited number of final talented contestants will compete vocally to see who will be 2013’s Emerald City Idol for each of the 4 age groups. A panel of local celebrity judges will be present at the LIVE competition to evaluate and find our Emerald City Idols. Each vocalist will sing one song for the judges in front of our LIVE audience and a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize will be awarded in each of the 4 age groups. The prizes will be awarded at the MAIN STAGE during Oz-Stravaganza! On Sunday, June 2nd—however winners will be revealed on May 18th at the end of the live show.
