The Royal Historian Of Oz, L. Frank Baum. 

    Are you a Wizard or a Wiz? Are you all about the books, the 1939 MGM feature Film, or even the 60‘s cartoons? Whether you consider yourself an L. Frank Baum aficionado or a Judy Garland fan, this year’s Oz-Stravaganza! is for you!!! 

     The theme for the 2013 event is “The Patchwork of Oz” and we have an amazing array of special guests to help us bring the many versions of OZ to life! 

     We hope that the information you find within will inspire you. Inspire you to come visit us as we host the annual Oz-Stravaganza! festival celebrating all things Oz. Inspire you to read an OZ book. Inspire you to write an OZ story. Or maybe it will just inspire you to come and walk along our Yellow Brick Road sidewalks and touch history. 

     L. Frank Baum was born here, and this is the center of the OZ universe. If you are a fan of OZ, or just a student of popular culture, you can’t help but notice that OZ is a part of our everyday life. From references in songs (America’s “Tin Man”), to commercials (Pillsbury-Clicking heels three times), to sayings we all know and love like “and your little dog too” or “There’s No Place Like Home”, there is a patchwork of Oz all around us every day. And if you are like us, you are excited by it. 

     The stories that have captured hearts around the globe, all started when the Oz universe began. And the man who’s imagination started it all…was born right here in Chittenango. So come visit Chittenango and walk where L. Frank Baum walked. The weekend of the first Saturday in June every year, we invite you to come celebrate with us.
